Solo Recital by pianist Andre Watts
To benefit the York Symphony Orchestra
(exclusive appearance in Central Pennyslvania)
A much-honored artist who has played before royalty in Europe and heads of state in nations all over the world, André Watts was selected to receive the Avery Fisher Prize in 1988. Mr. Watts' PBS telecast in 1976 was the first solo recital presented live from Lincoln Center and the first full-length piano recital in the history of televsion. André has deep musical roots in Central PA, including pivotal performances early in his career with former YSO Music Director Louis Vyner and his colleage Leonard Bernstein.
