Music Education
York Symphony Orchestra educational programs expose children, parents and grandparents to the legacy of beautiful symphonic music through the annual Saturday Morning Symphony, Young Persons’ Concerts and Children’s Musicales. The YSO also sponsors a song writing contest for students in grades 3-12, a Young Artist’s Competition for York County residents no older than 25 (the winner performs in the following season with the YSO), a Sultner-Wells scholarship for students majoring in music or music education who are entering their college sophomore year or higher and are permanent residents of York County and summer music camps for students in grades 3-12 held in conjunction with Penn State York.
