75 Years Times Two!

Veteran musicians from the symphony will be directed by Dr. Robert Hart Baker and will be joined by YLT alumni and Broadway veterans, Sam Freed and David Masenheimer. Both of these Suburban High School grads have prestigious resumes. Sam appeared in Hal Prince's first revival of Candide and Harvey Firestein's Torch Song Trilogy. His Off-Broadway and regional work includes the West Coast Premier of A. R. Gurney's The Fourth Wall. Sam's film credits include Jack the Bear, For the Boys, Call Me, Stephen King's Thinner and the independents 101 Ways and Peoples. His television credits include: Sex and the City, Law and Order, Law and Order: SVU and Criminal Intent, Monday Night Madness, Third Watch. David appeared on Broadway as Javert in Les Miserables first in 1995 until late 1996 and again in 2002. He also appeared in Side Show, The Scarlet Pimpernel and Ragtime. David has toured in Les Miz, as Che in Evita, Marcel in Aspects of Love and Arbiter in Chess. He also understudied and was the Stand-by for Mandy Patinkin in The Wild Party a job not suited for the fair of heart. In recent years, David's exquisite carpentry talents have landed him jobs for Props Design including On the Twentieth Century. Dr Baker and Eric Bradley Long, YLT's artistic director, will be holding auditions for the vocal ensemble in September. Rehearsals will begin this fall.
