The York Symphony Orchestra is excited to welcome a new office staff member! Anthony will be joining the current York-based staff of Michael Reichman, Executive Director; Richard Brown, Development Director; Cassie Fait, Marketing & Development Associate; and Lisa Welty, Librarian. The YSO Board of Directors has previously thanked Erik Shinn for his significant contribution to the YSO during his tenure.

Anthony Wise- Concert Operations & Personnel Manager

After attending the Curtis Institute of Music from 1998-2002 studying with Philadelphia Orchestra’s Principal Trombonist, Mr. Nitzan Haroz, Mr. Wise has successfully auditioned and held positions such as Principal Trombone of The Israel Philharmonic, Principal Trombone of The San Antonio Symphony, Second Trombone of The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, and Sub-Principal Trombone of The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also performed with The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Detroit Symphony, The Singapore Symphony, as well as many other chamber groups all over the world. Anthony has worked with conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Wolfgang Sawallisch, James Levine, Fabio Luisi, Gustavo Adolfo Dudamel, Robert Spano, and Leonard Slatkin. His newest arrangements of Astor Piazzolla’s Oblivion for Trombone, Cello and Piano and Nino Rota’s Parla piu Piano for Trombone and Piano can be heard on Peter Steiner’s CDs, “United” and “Sapphire”. In the past five seasons, Anthony has become Founder and CEO of LoBrass Productions online music publications and The Austin Summer Brass Academy, an elite instrument specific academy in Texas where students ages 12-18 make music, friendship, and learn life skills that last a lifetime. Anthony is originally from York County, graduating from Red Lion Area Senior High School, and is proud to be back in his hometown working with The York Symphony Orchestra to help the organization continue to provide the highest quality musicianship and memorable musical moments to the community!
